Beautiful tells the rarely-heard story of Carole King’s rise from young Brooklyn songwriter to mega-star, focusing in particular on her fruitful -- but rocky -- relationship with husband and writing partner Gerry Goffin. The show features characters based on the real people who surrounded Carole on her journey, including Cynthia Weil, Barry Mann, Donnie Kirshner, Lou Adler, and the famous rock groups the Drifters, the Shirelles, and the Righteous Brothers.
